Health Monitor is for the ECG and BP specifically, as they have to be approved by regulators per region and can be calibrated, thus having a separate app. Watch this. It'll answer your questions. You also lose notifications from your Work profile apps, which only seems to work when paired with Samsung phones.
The New Galaxy Watch 4 still requires a Samsung phone for ECG and BP. This is so deal breaking for me, even with Wear OS, ECG and BP features are still limited to Galaxy phones according to the Galaxy Watch official page. ECG and BP feature only to be used by 22 years+. For accurate BP readings, a calibration is required every 4 weeks by BP
It needs a Samsung Health app and okay you can download it on the Play Store, but it doesn't allow the use of ECG and blood pressure measurements. You have to download the Samsung Health app on the Galaxy store and with your Galaxy phone.
